What does an Account Director do at WPP Production?
 

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Account Director to lead the day-to-day management of the Beauty Luxury account within WPP Production.

Acting as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, this role will sit at the heart of the operation, translating business needs into actionable delivery plans, triaging incoming briefs, managing workload prioritisation and ensuring the right resources are allocated to deliver exceptional work on time and on budget.

The successful candidate will bring strong account leadership, operational rigour and stakeholder management skills, ensuring seamless collaboration between clients, creative teams, production teams and specialist capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day client lead for the client stakeholders.
  • Work with the Business Director to build trusted relationships across brand, marketing and operations teams
  • Lead regular status meetings, work-in-progress reviews and governance sessions.
  • Work with the Business Director to manage stakeholder expectations, escalations and issue resolution
  • Work with the Client Delivery Lead to own the end-to-end intake process for all incoming briefs.
  • Ensure briefs contain all necessary information before entering production.
  • Work with the Client Delivery Lead to prioritise work based on business objectives, SLAs and resource availability.
  • Maintain visibility of team capacity and forecast upcoming demand.
  • Manage freelance or specialist resource requirements during peak periods.
  • Manage projects from brief through to final delivery.
  • Identify scope changes and prepare OOS estimates for client sign off
  • Support forecasting, reporting and financial reconciliation.
  • Work with the Business Director to contribute to commercial discussions and growth opportunities

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience in Account Management or Client Services within an agency, production or marketing environment.
  • Proven experience managing complex stakeholder groups.
  • Strong resource management and workflow planning capabilities.
  • Experience overseeing high-volume creative and content production.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience within beauty, luxury, retail or FMCG sectors.
  • Knowledge of creative production, content creation and adaptation workflows.
  • Experience working with integrated agency teams and offshore production models.
  • Familiarity with workflow and project management platforms such as Wrike
  • Experience supporting operational transformation programmes
