Job Description

Location: Nottingham Woodthorpe Hospital, Nottingham

Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Full time

Salary: Dependent on experience, plus benefits

Summary

The site on which Woodthorpe Hospital now stands has provided healthcare to the people of Nottingham since 1877 and is conveniently located to the north of Nottingham city centre, with excellent on‑site parking and good public transport access. Today we are a modern, well‑equipped hospital with 41 private en‑suite bedrooms and two operating theatres, continually developing our services to offer a comprehensive range of specialist departments and high‑standard care.

The role

Woodthorpe Hospital seeks an experienced Administrative Assistant for our busy, friendly, forward‑thinking Booking Department. You will provide high‑standard care support to our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Book and confirm new and follow‑up appointments
  • Handle telephone calls from patients
  • Use the national Choose & Book referral system
  • Build clinic and theatre lists
  • Seek prior approval from CCGs
  • Provide reception duties during busy periods

Qualifications

  • Previous administrative experience and computer literacy
  • General education with GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications, grades A–C
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in interacting with staff, consultants and patients
  • Proficient IT and administration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, and independently when required
