Arabic Content, Localisation & App QA Specialist (AI-assisted)

Job Description

We are a small education-app team that teaches adults to read and understand Arabic. We are expanding into other languages so we can serve learners who speak languages beyond English. You will work closely with the founder, supporting our content and quality work. The work grows with the app, and we agree priorities together each week.

First 30 days

  • Review Arabic lessons and vocabulary: correct Modern Standard Arabic, full tashkeel, accurate English

  • Use Claude and other AI tools to draft and check content against our rules, and verify everything they produce

  • Test each new version of the app against a checklist, re-check old bugs, try it on different phones, and report problems clearly

  • Send a short weekly update: what you did, what you found, what you recommend

As it grows (from about month 2)

  • Going multilingual: each new language starts with an AI first pass. You coordinate freelance native translators and proofreaders within a budget we set: brief them, review their work, and track what is done. The founder approves every hire and payment

  • Prepare each new market: store listing wording, cultural and religious checks

  • Group user reviews and support messages into themes, and speak to users

  • Research competitor apps and bring back short decision briefs

  • Mock up improved or new learning games, describing every screen state

  • Your rate and hours are reviewed as your responsibilities grow

Terms

  • 5 pounds per hour. Freelance, up to about 25 hours a week as work allows, no guaranteed minimum, and you are free to take other clients. Some agreed overlap hours each week for communication, including a weekly call in the UK morning

  • You recommend and prepare; the founder approves and publishes

  • Process: a short skills check (about 30 minutes, on made-up material; we will not use your answers), then a paid 30-day trial of up to about 40 hours, then we both decide, with a rate review

  • Shortlisted applicants get our name and app link. You sign an NDA before seeing any unpublished content or user data

Job Requirements

  • Native-level Arabic, with full command of Modern Standard Arabic and tashkeel

  • Excellent in written and spoken English

  • Skilled with AI tools such as Claude (Claude Code is a plus), and you verify what they give you

  • Resourceful: you work things out without hand-holding and flag problems early

  • Comfortable with spreadsheets, and a user of language apps such as Duolingo

  • Interested in teaching Arabic to adult beginners, and comfortable working carefully with Quranic text

  • Bonus: other languages, or experience managing translators, localisation or a launch in a new country

To apply

In your application tell us: your Arabic background and the languages you speak; one mistake AI tools commonly make with Arabic; one thing you would change in a language-learning app you use. Start with the word BLUEHERON.
