Associate Producer, ABC News Studios

ABC News Studios is a non-fiction studio within ABC News charged with producing narrative non-fiction, documentaries, and news specials for Hulu, ABC Network, Disney+ and National Geographic.<br><br>We are seeking an Associate Producer who will generate and manage content for multi-part narrative non-fiction projects, single hour topical narrative specials for Hulu, and network specials.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong>The person in this position is responsible for providing logistical and editorial support for all aspects of longform production. The role includes, but is not limited to, setting up and managing field shoots, gathering and organizing elements for edit, booking guests, supporting editors with media, and writing. Assisting the story development process through the formulating of show treatments and decks is also expected while work is underway on the project of primary focus. Management of archival and field elements at mass scale is important. This Associate Producer will often work independently with editor to move production forward and should be in lockstep with producer. The expectation is to maintain concurrent projects when breaking news mandates activation for quick turn longform news features.<br><br><strong>Basic Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Experience with large scale production in news or documentary.</li><li>Strong communication, organization skills, attention to detail is essential. </li><li>Strong editorial judgment. </li><li>Reporting, research and booking.</li><li>Field experience including the conducting of interviews.</li><li>Understanding of production technologies in both pre- and post- production.</li><li>Innovate new ways of telling stories.</li><li>Easily multitasks and adapts quickly to changing priorities.</li><li>Knowledge of archival and digital resources.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Required Education<br><br></strong><ul><li>BA or BS from a 4 year accredited college or university or equivalent experience<br><br></li></ul>The hiring range for this position in New York is $59,600 - $79,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
