Building Surveyor (Commercial)
We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Lune Gorge project team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-profile infrastructure project, helping to deliver commercial success on a major civil engineering scheme. Nationwide – site-based role in Tebay, Cumbria, with some remote working available
Permanent, Full time, 45 hours per week – flexible hours can be discussed
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per year + £5,000 annual car allowance + benefits
As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in managing costs, maximising value and supporting the successful delivery of the project. Working closely with commercial and operational teams, you'll help ensure strong financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Supporting the commercial management of contracts and work packages to achieve project objectives and target margins
Preparing and submitting valuations, applications, claims and commercial reports in line with contractual requirements
Monitoring costs, forecasting financial performance and providing accurate commercial insight to the project team
Identifying commercial risks and opportunities, helping to resolve issues and protect project outcomes
Managing measurements, valuations and cash flow to maintain effective commercial control throughout delivery
This role of Quantity Surveyor could be a great fit if you:
Hold a construction-related degree or equivalent qualification
Have a full driving licence and are happy working in a site-based environment
Bring experience from a commercial role within construction, infrastructure or transportation projects
Are confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to analyse and manage commercial information
Enjoy building strong working relationships and communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
