Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and ambitious Education Specialist BDM to join our team, focusing exclusively on the education sector across the South of England.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience selling into schools, academies, MATs, FE colleges or higher education institutions, who can develop both new and existing customer relationships and help organisations transform teaching and learning through technology.

The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing education accounts across the South of England, identifying opportunities for growth, generating new business, and providing consultative technology solutions that genuinely meet customer needs.

You will work closely with our technical design, project delivery and support teams to ensure clients receive exceptional service throughout their journey with Roche AV.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify, develop and secure new education sector opportunities.
  • Build relationships with schools, academies, multi-academy trusts, colleges and universities.
  • Generate new leads through networking, referrals, tenders and proactive outreach.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline aligned with growth targets.
Account Management
  • Manage and grow existing education customer relationships.
  • Conduct regular account reviews and identify opportunities for technology refreshes and upgrades.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including IT managers, network teams, estates teams, senior leadership and procurement departments.
  • Ensure excellent customer satisfaction and long-term retention.
Consultative Sales
  • Understand customer challenges and recommend appropriate AV, collaboration and digital learning solutions.
  • Prepare and present tailored proposals and quotations.
  • Support tender submissions and framework opportunities.
  • Work alongside technical specialists to deliver solution demonstrations and presentations.
Market Engagement
  • Attend education exhibitions, conferences and networking events.
  • Maintain awareness of education funding streams, procurement frameworks and technology trends.
  • Promote Roche AV's solutions and services throughout the education sector.
Reporting & Administration
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and opportunities.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and pipeline updates.
  • Collaborate with marketing on education-focused campaigns and events.
Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in business development or account management.
  • Experience selling into the education sector.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a regional territory.
  • Experience presenting solutions to senior stakeholders.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
  • Experience selling AV, IT or education technology solutions.
  • Knowledge of procurement frameworks.
  • Understanding of classroom technology, collaboration systems and digital learning environments.
  • Existing education sector contacts and relationships.
