About the Role:

Paragon Home Healthcare is seeking an experienced carer for a day shifts to support a friendly teenage client living in an adapted flat in the Wandsworth SW18 area. The client has sustained a spinal cord injury, resulting in paralysis from the chest down. You will play a crucial role in assisting him throughout the day, including accompanying him to college. We are looking for a friendly and sociable carer who enjoys football, gaming andcomfortable around Pets (Kittens)

Your responsibilities will include providing personal care, supporting daily living tasks, and offering companionship to encourage his successful engagement with college life. 

With this client, you'll be engaged in a Rota of 3-4 or more shifts a week. Alternatively, if eligible, you can be a part of our Standby rota, working conveniently from home

Please note: A valid child DBS is required for this role, which we will process for you.

Job Details:

Job Type: Weekday and weekend day shifts
Shift Pattern: Weekdays 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Weekends 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Pay Rate:

  • Weekday (Day): £15.19/hr

  • Weekends (Day): £18.23/hr

  • Bank Holidays paid at 150% and Christmas at 200% (double pay)

Location: Wandsworth SW18

With this client, you'll be engaged in 3-4 shifts or more per week. Alternatively, if eligible, you can be a part of our Standby rota, working conveniently from home. To support your journey, we provide comprehensive training, equipping you to excel in your caregiving role.

What We’re Looking For:
Female carer required due to the need to provide personal care (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1).We welcome applications from female carers who are kind, dependable and confident supporting someone in their own home. You don’t need spinal injury experience – just a willingness to learn, a common-sense approach and the ability to follow the client’s lead.

Training & Support:
Paragon is a specialist provider of spinal cord injury and complex care. You’ll receive full training before you start, and where possible, time will be given to get familiar with the care routine. No previous experience with spinal care is needed.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and record the client's health status.

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living.

  • Ensure the client's safety.

  • Maintain client confidentiality.

  • Notify clients of changes in medications.

  • Arrange transportation for client appointments.
