Location Cardiff, Wales Hours Full Time - Typically 3 days per week onsite at either WSP offices or client offices across the region Salary Negotiable About the Role At WSP, you have the opportunity to shape a career as unique as you. Join our Local Government team in Wales as a Contract Manager, where you will play a strategic role in building, maintaining, and developing strong relationships with our clients including Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil, and Bridgend Councils. Reporting to the Regional Director, you will ensure the effective delivery of contract and partnership objectives, drive business growth, and support organisational priorities through collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. You will be part of a committed team delivering impactful transport and infrastructure projects across the region. Working under a collaborative contract, WSP partners closely with the Councils to improve highways, flood resilience, active travel routes, and support regeneration schemes, ensuring communities are better connected and protected from severe weather events. Key responsibilities include: - Developing and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with clients and internal teams - Acting as the primary point of contact for all contract and partnership matters - Ensuring NEC4 contract compliance, governance, and risk management - Leading regular client meetings to review progress, address issues, and identify new opportunities across the WSP portfolio - Leveraging your wider network to provide clients with the best of WSP - Identifying, creating, and pursuing opportunities for business growth and cross-functional collaboration - Leading contract negotiations, contract management, and delivery of contract commitments - Managing contract projects to ensure milestones, KPIs, and outcomes are achieved - Undertaking Project Management or Project Director roles as appropriate based on project risk profile and technical expertise - Driving innovation, social value, and continuous improvement within contract delivery by bringing knowledge from other contracts and sectors - Supporting the professional development of team members and partners
