The Role

Contract Manager £43,000 per annum Location : Northern England (Travel across the Northern Trains network required, company Vehicle provided) Although this role is home based, there will be travelling to sites required.

At APCOA, we're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Contract Manager to lead the delivery of our Northern Trains contract. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile operation, working closely with our client and internal teams to ensure outstanding service, operational excellence and continuous improvement across a diverse portfolio of sites.

What You'll Be Doing As Contract Manager, you'll be the key point of contact for Northern Trains, ensuring contractual commitments are consistently achieved while identifying opportunities to improve performance, efficiency and customer experience.

You'll Be Responsible For

  • Managing the operational and financial performance of the contract, ensuring budgets and profitability targets are achieved.
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with client stakeholders and acting as the primary contact for operational matters.
  • Monitoring contract performance against KPIs and Service Level Agreements, implementing improvements where required.
  • Overseeing equipment maintenance, Planned Preventative Maintenance programmes and ensuring faults are resolved within agreed timescales.
  • Producing operational reports, performance data and management information for both APCOA and the client.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Supporting commercial opportunities, marketing initiatives and tariff optimisation where appropriate.
  • Ensuring Health & Safety compliance through inspections, risk assessments and incident management.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across Operations, Finance, HR, Customer Service, Business Development and Health & Safety to deliver the very best service.
About You We're looking for someone who combines operational expertise with excellent relationship management skills.

You'll Ideally Have

  • Experience managing service or operational contracts, preferably within parking, transport, facilities management or a similar customer-focused environment.
  • A proven ability to manage budgets and control costs while delivering excellent service.
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management experience.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience analysing performance data and driving continuous improvement.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong organisational skills.
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities, with an IOSH qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the Northern England region.
