Data Analyst, Accounting Data and Systems

About the Team

It's an exciting time to join our rapidly growing Accounting team with ample development opportunities. We're growing the Revenue Data team with Engineering and Accounting Data openings to drive our automation and systems infrastructure and while keeping pace within one of the fastest growing marketplace companies.

About the Role

The Senior Engineer for Accounting Infrastructure and Systems designs, builds, and maintains the scalable backend services, data pipelines, and integrations that power DoorDash's accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting workflows. Working closely with Finance, Accounting, and fellow engineers, this role translates complex financial and regulatory requirements into reliable, automated systems that ensure accuracy, auditability, and compliance at scale. The ideal candidate brings strong distributed-systems and data engineering expertise along with a solid understanding of financial processes, and takes technical ownership of critical projects while mentoring junior engineers and helping shape the team's architecture and best practices.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will...

  • Take technical ownership of critical accounting infrastructure projects - designing and building the backend services, data pipelines, and integrations that power DoorDash's financial reporting, reconciliation, and close workflows at scale.
  • Partner directly with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to translate complex financial and regulatory requirements into reliable, auditable, and automated systems.
  • Shape the team's architecture and engineering best practices, mentoring junior engineers and raising the technical bar across the organization.
  • Drive measurable improvements in data accuracy, pipeline reliability, and system performance in a high-impact, compliance-critical environment.
We're excited about you because...
  • You have 5+ years of experience in software or data engineering, with a strong track record of owning and delivering complex backend or data infrastructure projects.
  • You have deep expertise in distributed systems and data engineering, with hands-on experience in tools like Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, or similar modern data stack technologies.
  • You can navigate the intersection of engineering and finance - understanding concepts like revenue recognition, reconciliation, and auditability well enough to build systems that meet those requirements.
  • You have a collaborative, low-ego approach and can effectively partner with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, and Engineering.
  • Familiarity with SOX controls, data quality frameworks, or financial systems (e.g., NetSuite) is a strong plus.
