⚠️ Previous School Safeguarding Experience Essential

A high-performing secondary school in Bromley is seeking an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead to lead on safeguarding, child protection and the welfare of students.

Previous experience working in a school safeguarding position is essential, ideally with substantial DSL or DDSL experience within a secondary school.

This role will suit someone who is confident managing complex cases and working collaboratively with senior leaders and external agencies.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Taking strategic responsibility for safeguarding

  • Managing safeguarding referrals and concerns

  • Overseeing vulnerable student caseloads

  • Maintaining accurate safeguarding records

  • Working with social care and external agencies

  • Supporting child protection meetings

  • Advising staff on safeguarding concerns

  • Coordinating safeguarding training

  • Monitoring compliance with safeguarding procedures

  • Supporting the development of the school's safeguarding culture

About You

You should have strong knowledge of KCSIE, child protection procedures and multi-agency safeguarding, alongside excellent judgement and communication skills.

Current DSL training and experience working with social care, Prevent, early help and safeguarding audits would be expected.
