Director of Public Policy, Government and Global Impact, EMEA

Based in either London or Brussels, the Director of Public Policy, Government and Global Impact, will focus on the EMEA region and will join a global team to be a key member of a critical public policy function. In this role, they will help demonstrate Roblox’s value to policymakers, thought-leaders, NGOs, and other key stakeholders. Working with Public Policy leadership and representatives in each market, they will coordinate and build partnerships and policy programs that highlight Roblox’s platform to core policy audiences and collaborate directly with growing in-region teams on shared goals. Their programs will address some of the most complex and emerging global tech policy issues, from social to economic. This includes programs across a range of issue areas such as privacy, safety, digital civility, AI and innovation, the developer economy, job creation, and more.

The ideal candidate will be a diligent, results-oriented professional who can function independently in a fast-moving environment and rapidly earn credibility and trust with all levels of the organization. They will be someone who can collaborate effectively, is highly critical and thoughtful about the needs of a particular team member or region, and is happy to be resourceful when necessary. They are adept at understanding complex policy and reputational challenges and thrive in a fluid environment. They are also someone who will represent Roblox externally with intelligence, humility, and grace. We are low drama, treat people at all levels of the organization the same, and genuinely enjoy working with each other.

You Will:

Advance Roblox public policy priorities globally with key audiences including policymakers, non-profits, and others

Work with teams across the company to ensure that programs are improving external understanding around key policy issues and the company’s positive impact in core areas

Coordinate programs cross-functionally with internal teams

Develop, manage, and oversee programs in EU markets (and beyond, as needed)

Build and manage partnerships and relationships with external partners

Organize external events

Represent Roblox when necessary at events, conferences, and other meaningful gatherings

Partner with the team and communications partners to develop narratives around Roblox’s economic and social impact

Help set up and prepare executives for programs as necessary, including with briefing docs

Collaborate excellently with internal and external partners, from Public Policy to Comms, Legal, Marketing, Product, and more

Travel with regularity, inside and outside the EU

You Have:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, focuses in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, Marketing, ideal

10 plus years proven experience in policy, marketing, or the political space

Knowledge of the global tech policy landscape, familiarly with metaverse, AI, the creator economy, and safety policy

Strong understanding of how to run economic and social impact research studies

Experience with key policy issues such as online safety, or experience working with think tanks, academics, policy advocates/activists, trade associations, and other NGOs

You treat everyone like a client, no matter how important they appear to be, and take a collaborative, team-centered, solutions-oriented approach to working (read: no drama!)

You are willing to perform any small or large tasks in connection with setting up events and activations

Excellent project management, writing, and communication skills

Language skills a plus

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
