Document Controller & Technical Administrator

Purpose of role

Unitspark are an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering contractor working within the UK construction industry, mainly within Water Utilities, delivering specialist projects with individual values ranging from £1K to £1M.

The Document Controller and Technical Administrator will ensure document management best practices and principles are applied across all assigned Projects, rigorously, maintaining control and traceability of the documentation throughout all Projects phases.

Key responsibilities

Typical (non-exhaustive) duties may include: -
  • Support the development, implementation and maintenance of the document control processes and procedures within the Company Projects
  • Compile all O&M Manuals
  • Compile all H&S files and Asset Integration Manuals for all Southern Water and Thames Water delivery projects
  • Monitoring documentation progress in accordance with any agreed schedule, to ensure any possible delay is immediately highlighted
  • Issuing of the progress reporting on the status of the documents
  • Ensure the use of standardised forms and templates across the Project
  • Work closely with Project Managers to ensure all documentation is completed to meet client expectations.
  • Support with ad-hoc administrative tasks
  • Qualifications and Skills
  • Competent with using all Microsoft software
  • Competent with using Adobe
Desirable for the role
  • Experience in a document management role
  • Knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems and relevant implementation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with project team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven IT skills
This role is a home based, with site and office visits as required. Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
