Ecommerce Data Analyst - Amazon

We are partnered with a growing FMCG business who are looking for a Commercial Analyst, with deep experience within the Amazon seller ecosystem.

You will work with a talented team across the business on driving the ecommerce agenda. This is not a business reporting or data quality role, it is a business partnering role where you work with commercial and trading teams to find opportunities to improve top and bottom line performance. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of D2C ecommerce ecosystem with in depth skills in Amazon and Shopify tools. You’ll be able to blend different data sources together to make recommendations that move the business forward. You’ll do it in a way where you play a meaningful role in diving the outcome and sitting as part of a commercial organisation’s leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run in depth analysis on complex business problems and questions that help improve top and bottom-line performance. You’ll blend commercial insights with financial data to give a true P&L impact on opportunities.
  • Drive a culture of data analysis and usage, everyone should have a base level of fluency in the systems and this role will help enhance this knowledge and drive capability in the team
  • Be the right hand to the MD on business performance and voice of channel performance to C Suite.
  • Collaborate with business insights, Business intelligence teams on drive wholistic stories on opportunities and business performance.
  • Play a leading role in driving the trading cadence and rhythm of the team. This may well also involve into hands on delivery and management of cross functional project delivery that improve performance.
  • Lead the interaction with the BI team on new views and reports that they can automate that drive value
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with brand, operations, finance, performance marketing, other sales teams to ensure optimal running of day-to-day business as well as on strategic projects for the brand.
  • As a senior leader in the ecommerce team you’ll be expected to play a broader leadership role in the organisation developing and nurturing talent as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in digital analytics with a proven deep expertise in Amazon Seller Eco System.
  • Comfortable in navigating D2C webshop tools such as GA and Shopfiy
  • Motivated and driven by commercial outcomes, with a proven track record of driving insights that improve sales in a sustainable and profitable manner. This role comes with targets and an ambitious 5-year vision, with the successful candidate expected to own this challenge and drive the brand forward.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the D2C ecosystem, comfortable in navigating marketplaces and shopify tools and systems.
  • Demonstrated skill set in commercial problem solving, curiosity and flowing between strategy and operational opportunities.
  • Comfortable in analysing digital methodologies such as A/B testing. Play a role in overseeing how tests are set up to ensure robust outcomes
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams (brand, marketing, finance, sales, etc). This role will involve close collaboration with the brand manager, stock planners, design, and performance marketing.
  • Presentation skills & stakeholder management skills – the successful candidate will need to report regularly on strategy & performance to senior management (including up to the C-Suite if necessary).

Fluency in English (written and spoken). German, French, Italian or Spanish language skills beneficial but not essential.
