Dubai British School – Jumeira is currently hiring a English Teacher for its team in Dubai. You will develop and deliver the Key Stage 3 English curriculum alongside the existing English team. The role suits someone who genuinely enjoys this phase of education. As the Secondary school grows into Year 9 and moves toward exam cycles, the school is keen to meet candidates with some English department leadership experience. Experience in subsidiary areas such as Media Studies or Film is also of interest as subject offerings expand.

Additionally, you will contribute to planning our growth towards GCSE cycles and shape curriculum in a genuine opportunity for impact. Above all, you will design learning experiences that celebrate student individuality and develop essential competencies for an ever-changing world.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

Qualifications and Requirements

Essential

  • A recognised teaching qualification: PGCE, QTS, B.Ed, or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a relevant setting
  • Evidence of strong teaching practice and student progress
  • Understanding of data-informed teaching and inclusive strategies
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular and whole-school initiatives
  • Alignment with DBSJ’s ethos and commitment to professional reflection

Desirable

  • Experience in British or international curriculum schools
  • Familiarity with KHDA or DSIB frameworks
  • Experience delivering IGCSE English Language and English Literature
  • Experience with post-16 English pathways
  • Some leadership experience within an English department
  • Experience in Media Studies or Film
