WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You’ll join FRWD, Bain & Company’s marketing acceleration capability and a 200-person community of expert practitioners who partner with clients and their agencies to drive meaningful business results and transformation.

Our team brings together practitioners from leading in-house marketing organizations, agencies, and technology platforms. We combine hands-on marketplace expertise with data-driven insights to help clients understand not only what to do and why, but also how to make change happen.

Our work focuses on solving some of Bain clients’ toughest marketing challenges, including:

  • Marketing diagnostics: Develop a data-driven perspective on a company’s, brand’s, or asset’s marketing performance and identify prioritized opportunities to create value.
  • Marketing acceleration: Help clients drive transformational change, develop new capabilities, and establish ways of working that create sustainable competitive advantage.
  • E-commerce acceleration: Improve operational value capture across key commerce channels, including third-party retailers and direct-to-consumer channels.
  • Operating model: Help clients set up their marketing organizations for success, including marketing technology and data strategy, capabilities, and ways of working.
  • Due diligence: Partner with private equity clients to assess the marketing capabilities of target assets and help develop value creation plans.

 

WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

As an Expert Manager focused on marketing technology, you’ll be a seasoned marketing practitioner who leads key workstreams within integrated Bain case teams.

You’ll work closely with client teams and cross-functional colleagues from across Bain, using hands-on platform experience, data, and analysis to generate insights and contribute to broader case results. You’ll help clients understand the impact of marketing technology decisions, connect marketing insights to broader business goals, and translate your expertise into practical recommendations.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Problem solving and case delivery

  • Lead key workstreams, particularly those focused on marketing technology, with support from the leadership team.
  • Deliver high-quality results that meet client expectations and strengthen client advocacy.
  • Partner with Bain generalist consultants in blended teams, bringing together complementary skills and expertise.
  • Apply deep marketing expertise across relevant industries, channels, platforms, products, and tools.
  • Lead a wide range of analyses and consistently produce insightful, accurate outputs and materials.
  • Use hands-on experience with digital advertising, e-commerce, and other marketing platforms to gather data, generate insights, and develop testing plans.
  • Bring current knowledge of marketing technology and tools, including generative AI, attribution and measurement, marketing and advertising technology, and data.

Client communication and results

  • Build trusted relationships with clients and their agencies and collaborate effectively across stakeholder groups.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with case teams and clients, sharing insights and maintaining alignment on the workplan.
  • Connect specialized marketing expertise with broader client business challenges, translating insights into actionable strategic recommendations that drive measurable impact.

Extraordinary teaming

  • Seek out and act on feedback from teammates, peers, and leaders.
  • Coach and develop junior team members through case work.
  • Share expertise and best practices across FRWD and the broader Bain ecosystem.
  • Contribute to FRWD strategy and operations, including sponsoring internal initiatives and supporting recruiting and hiring activities.

 

ABOUT YOU

You bring:

  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience in marketing roles, including agency, brand, in-house, or technology platform environments, with clear leadership experience and a consistent career trajectory.
  • 3–5+ years of marketing technology experience, such as marketing technology stack assessments, marketing automation, customer data platform implementations, or measuring return on marketing technology investments.
  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Experience contributing to high-performing, cross-functional, integrated teams.
  • The ability to break complex problems into manageable pieces and apply a hypothesis-driven approach.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in one or more marketing domains.
  • Strong expertise in the digital media landscape, including media partners, products, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and collaborate across functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A positive, accountable approach to your work.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.

 

ADDITIONAL EXPERTISE

In addition to broad marketing expertise, deeper experience across a select few of the following areas would be valuable:

  • E-commerce and retail media
  • Marketing measurement and analytics
  • Marketing technology
  • Generative AI in marketing, including agentic search
  • Business-to-business marketing
  • Client services experience gained through consulting, agency, or similar environments
  • Relevant digital-channel certifications, such as Meta Blueprint, Google Ads, Amazon Ads, The Trade Desk Trading Academy, or Adobe Marketing Platform
  • MBA preferred but not required
