FANTASTIC FRIDAY EVENING PRESENTER

FRIDAY EVENING RADIO PRESENTER7:00 PM – 10:00 PM | Paid Role – £12.90per hour

Location: Harrow-on-the-Hill

We are looking for an open-minded, empathetic and engaging individual to become the voice of our Friday evening programme.

This is not a DJ role.

We are looking for someone who understands that radio can be much more than music. It can be a space for conversation, reflection, laughter, honesty and connection — a place where listeners feel heard.

Our Friday 7pm–10pm slot is designed as grown-folks radio: intelligent, relatable and unafraid to explore the realities of adult life.

THE CONVERSATIONS

You could find yourself discussing:

  • Life challenges and personal experiences
  • Relationships, intimacy and sex
  • Money, finance and financial pressures
  • Raising children and family life
  • Personal and human development
  • Work, purpose and navigating adulthood
  • Society, culture and the things that affect everyday people
  • The joys, frustrations and unexpected moments of life

You do not need to be a psychotherapist, counsellor or professional expert.

What you do need is empathy, emotional intelligence, curiosity and the ability to have meaningful conversations with people from different walks of life.

You should be comfortable listening without judgement, asking thoughtful questions and allowing people to tell their stories.

YOUR VOICE MATTERS

A major part of this role will involve speaking directly with listeners on air.

You will need excellent telephone manner and communication skills. You should be able to make callers feel comfortable, keep conversations flowing and know when to listen, when to probe and when to move the conversation forward.

Strong telephone skills are pivotal to this role.

MUSIC WITH MEANING

Although this is not a DJ position, music remains an important part of the programme.

We are looking for someone with a varied musical palette and an appreciation for music across different eras, genres and cultures.

You don't have to be a music obsessive — but you should understand that the right song, at the right moment, can sometimes say what words cannot.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You may be right for this role if you are:

  • Open-minded and naturally curious
  • Empathetic and non-judgemental
  • A confident and engaging communicator
  • Comfortable discussing mature and sometimes sensitive subjects
  • Interested in people and the human experience
  • A good listener as well as a good talker
  • Comfortable speaking to people from different backgrounds and generations
  • Able to think on your feet
  • Passionate about making a positive contribution to people's lives
  • Someone who sees radio as a form of connection, not simply entertainment

THIS IS NOT DJING

We want to be very clear:

We are NOT looking for DJs.

We are looking for a presenter and conversationalist — someone who wants to create a programme with substance, personality and purpose.

You don't need to arrive as a fully formed radio professional. Full training will be provided.

What matters most is your personality, your ability to connect with people and your desire to create something meaningful.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

To us, radio is more than playing music.

It's about being part of people's lives.

Sometimes you're there when someone is driving home after a difficult day. Sometimes you're keeping someone company while they cook dinner. Sometimes a caller simply needs to know that someone is listening.

We believe radio can be the rhythm to people's lives — and we're looking for someone who understands that responsibility.
