Finance and Accounts Associate

Role Description

This is a part-time, remote role for a Finance and Accounts Associate. The role involves managing financial records, processing transactions, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting and analysis. The Associate will also handle account management tasks, liaise with clients and vendors, and provide customer service support. Collaboration with the management team to ensure accurate and timely financial operations is a key part of this role.

Responsibilities

Bookkeeping

  • Record and maintain financial transactions
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Maintain bookkeeping records in Xero or similar software

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Issue invoices and track payments
  • Manage supplier payments
  • Monitor outstanding balances

Payroll Administration

  • Prepare payroll information for staff and contractors
  • Coordinate payroll processing

Accountant Liaison

  • Prepare financial records and reports for the company accountant
  • Support VAT and tax documentation

Financial Administration

  • Track business expenses
  • Maintain financial records and documentation
  • Assist with monthly financial summaries

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience with bookkeeping or finance administration
  • Familiar with Xero and similar software.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organised and reliable
  • Comfortable working remotely and independently

Experience with small businesses or startups is helpful but not essential.

Role Details

Location: Fully Remote

Hours: 10 hours per week (flexible)

Compensation: £15-25 per hour based on experience

  • Proficiency in accounting software and knowledge of basic accounting principles is highly desirable
  • Relevant experience or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
