About the Role

We’re seeking a Financial Crime Operations Manager to lead and oversee our Financial Crime and Fraud operations. This is a critical role ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing risk, and driving operational excellence across screening, monitoring, investigations, and reporting.

You’ll provide leadership to the Financial Crime team, optimise processes, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain robust controls and deliver continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day Financial Crime and Fraud operations, including sanctions, PEP, adverse media, transaction monitoring, and investigations
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory expectations, and industry best practice
  • Oversee fraud detection and reporting, including liaison with Action Fraud and Group Risk teams
  • Lead risk assessments, governance reporting, and support internal audits
  • Drive system enhancements and process optimisation for screening and monitoring tools
  • Act as Risk Champion for Financial Crime operations
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Financial Crime team, ensuring capability, succession planning, and performance management

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in financial crime operations, AML / CTF, sanctions, and fraud management
  • Proven leadership in regulated financial services, ideally within the mortgage industry
  • In-depth knowledge of AML / CTF regulations, sanctions frameworks, and financial crime typologies
  • Skilled in operational process management, risk assessment, and regulatory audits
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
