Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Forensic Assistant to join the Identification Bureau at the Regional Scientific Support Services in Wakefield. This role involves supporting Identification Officers and senior staff by providing administrative support related to forensic exhibits, case management, and liaising with regional and national stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Receipt and return of forensic exhibits
  • Updating forensic case management systems
  • Managing case files (hardcopy and electronic)
  • Searching regional crime systems for suspects
  • Liaising with stakeholders regarding case results and intelligence
  • Assisting with maintaining ISO 17025:2017 accreditation
  • Administering Disclosure and Barring Service applications
  • Requisitioning supplies and stationery

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills

Additional Information

This position operates Monday to Friday under a flexi-time scheme, with core hours from 08:00 to 16:00. The role is suitable for job sharing.
