Freelance Audio Editor - Mandarin (Hiring Immediately)

The Award-Winning team at SIDE UK is looking for a passionate Audio Editor to join our crew on a freelance basis. SIDE has been producing best-in-class game audio for over 25 years and built an enviable portfolio and brand. Recent hit releases SIDE have provided dialogue services for include Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Hitman III, Returnal, It Takes Two and many more.

An Audio Editor (Mandarin) plays a key role in the Post Production pipeline. In this role you will complete technical and admin tasks in a timely manner, while maintaining high quality and consistency. You will aid the Post team in meeting deadlines, completing milestones, and upholding SIDE’s high standards and expectations.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Independently edit dialogue for various game projects, ensuring high quality audio output.
  • Specific focus on projects recorded in Mandarin – provide extra clarity and quality for large and long-running projects, utilising a strong, fluent understanding of the language.
  • Perform tasks such as editing dialogue, dialogue design and mastering, working with timing constraints, importing audio files into DAW sessions, and anything else to support the Post team with their technical needs.
  • Follow project-specific instructions exactly, to provide smooth ingestion of processed audio.
  • Troubleshoot audio issues and ensure all deliverables meet technical specifications.
  • Maintain strong communication with batch assignees, and report any issues that might impact progress or quality.
  • Review audio files against their script, and note down any script deviations with completely accurate spelling and grammar.
  • Clearly outline your availability to take on work, and keep your personal tracker up-to-date with availability information.

Requirements

  • Proficient in the following software and tools:
  • WAV file audio editors (Preferably Adobe Audition and/or IZotope RX)
  • Avid Pro Tools
  • Reaper
  • Good ability in troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Strong and consistent communication
  • Must be fully fluent in reading, writing, listening to and speaking Mandarin.
Salary: GBP 20 - 30 per hour
