Qualification

As a team:

Accenture Software & Platform Engineering is over 1,000 people strong and provides end-to-end product engineering solutions which deliver tangible value, fast. We bring together an obsession for technical excellence with agility and scale, to help clients move from project to product at speed.

We work with clients in every sector. They range from scale-ups through to national and international blue-chip names and public sector organisations. Our teams routinely work on products that are used by millions of people.

We offer an exciting career working in a vibrant environment, with access to training and a global network of experts. As part of our Software & Platform Engineering team, you will work with senior clients and internal leadership to shape transformation outcomes, grow engineering capability, and help teams apply modern technology, including AI-enabled delivery, to solve complex business challenges.

In our team you will:

As a Senior Manager within Software & Platform Engineering, you will lead complex technology transformation programmes and work with senior client stakeholders to shape and deliver business-critical outcomes.

Acting as a trusted advisor, you will help clients modernise their technology estates, accelerate engineering maturity, and unlock value through modern delivery practices and emerging technologies.

You will play a pivotal role in mobilising and leading large-scale engagements, establishing effective delivery structures, governance, engineering operating models, and the right team shape from the outset.

Whilst your foundation will be in software engineering, the emphasis of this role is on strategy, leadership, and transformation delivery rather than day-to-day hands-on development.

The role combines client delivery, business growth, people leadership, and practice development. You will contribute to new opportunities and growth by shaping propositions, supporting sales activities, developing client relationships, and helping position Accenture as a trusted engineering transformation partner across industries and sectors.

AI is increasingly central to how our clients transform their organisations. You will help clients understand where AI can create value, guide the delivery of AI-enabled transformation programmes, and ensure emerging technologies are applied responsibly, pragmatically, and in a way that improves client outcomes.

Beyond client work, you will help strengthen our engineering community through mentoring, capability development, thought leadership, practice initiatives, internal events, and wider growth activities. You will be expected to build strong teams, support talent development, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our Software & Platform Engineering practice.

Job Qualifications

We are looking for experience in the following skills:

  • Proven experience leading large-scale software engineering, technology transformation, or digital modernisation programmes within complex enterprise environments.

  • Strong track record of engaging senior client stakeholders and operating as a trusted advisor across delivery, engineering strategy, transformation, and business outcomes.

  • Experience mobilising and leading complex engagements, including establishing delivery governance, shaping teams, setting direction, and creating the conditions for successful delivery from the outset.

  • Demonstrated success leading managers, engineers, architects, and multidisciplinary technology teams, with a strong focus on people development and high-performing team culture.

  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, cloud-native architectures, platform engineering, DevOps, product-centric delivery models, and engineering quality standards.

  • Previous hands-on software engineering experience with one or more modern technology stacks, combined with the ability to step back and provide strategic direction, technical judgement, and leadership guidance.

  • Experience helping organisations use AI and emerging technologies as part of wider business, engineering, or operational transformation programmes.

  • Commercial awareness with experience managing programme financials, budgets, forecasts, delivery performance, and the commercial health of engagements.

  • Experience contributing to business development activity, including opportunity shaping, proposal support, client conversations, sales enablement, and account growth.

  • A passion for building engineering communities, developing capability, sharing knowledge, and contributing to practice growth through internal initiatives, events, mentoring, or thought leadership.

  • Comfortable operating across a range of client environments and sectors, balancing strategic thinking with pragmatic delivery leadership.

  • Consulting experience is beneficial, but not essential; we are equally interested in senior engineering leaders who have built their experience within large engineering-led organisations.
