The Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a General Farm Worker to join a busy agricultural operation. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day activities of the farm and contributing to the efficient running of operations throughout the year.
The successful candidate will assist with a range of agricultural tasks, helping to maintain high standards of productivity, safety and animal or crop welfare. This position would suit an individual who enjoys working outdoors, has a strong work ethic and is looking to develop a long-term career within the agricultural sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general farm duties as directed by the Farm Manager or Foreman
- Assist with planting, cultivating, irrigating and harvesting crops
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment safely and effectively
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs to farm buildings, machinery and infrastructure
- Assist with livestock care, including feeding, bedding, handling and welfare checks where applicable
- Monitor crops and report signs of pests, disease or damage
- Load, unload and transport materials, produce and equipment as required
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Follow all farm health & safety procedures and company policies
- Support seasonal operations during busy periods, including planting and harvest
- Complete records and documentation accurately when required

The Candidate:
- Previous experience within agriculture, farming, horticulture or a similar outdoor working environment
- Ability to undertake physically demanding work in varying weather conditions
- Good practical, problem solving and organisational skills
- Experience operating tractors, agricultural machinery or farm equipment would be advantageous
- Telehandler, forklift or pesticide application certificates beneficial
- Livestock handling experience desirable where relevant
- Basic mechanical, maintenance or repair skills advantageous
- First Aid qualification beneficial
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn and strong attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexible approach to working hours during seasonal peak periods

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
