<p><strong>Location:</strong> Castle Bromwich, Birmingham<br><strong>Salary:</strong> £146.85 - £220.33<br><strong>Start Date:</strong> Immediate<br><strong>Contract Type:</strong> Temporary / Long-Term through TeacherActive<br><strong>Hours:</strong> Full-Time<br><strong>Key Stage:</strong> Secondary</p>Hairdressing & Beauty Teacher <p>TeacherActive is working with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in <strong>Castle Bromwich</strong> that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced <strong>Hairdressing & Beauty Teacher</strong> for an immediate start.</p><p>This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher or experienced <strong>Further Education Hairdressing & Beauty lecturer/teacher</strong> who is passionate about sharing their industry knowledge and helping young people develop practical, vocational and employability skills.</p><p>The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging <strong>Hairdressing and Beauty lessons</strong> to secondary-aged pupils, combining practical instruction with relevant theory and ensuring students are supported to make progress and achieve positive outcomes.</p>Candidate Requirements <p>The successful Hairdressing & Beauty Teacher will ideally:</p><ul> <li> <p>Hold <strong>Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK</strong>, or have previous experience teaching Hairdressing & Beauty within Further Education.</p></li><li> <p>Hold relevant professional Hairdressing and/or Beauty qualifications.</p></li><li> <p>Have strong practical and theoretical knowledge of the Hairdressing and Beauty industry.</p></li><li> <p>Have experience planning and delivering engaging vocational lessons.</p></li><li> <p>Be confident teaching secondary-aged pupils or FE learners.</p></li><li> <p>Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills.</p></li><li> <p>Be able to differentiate lessons for pupils with varying levels of ability.</p></li><li> <p>Be confident assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.</p></li><li> <p>Have excellent communication and organisational skills.</p></li><li> <p>Demonstrate a positive and professional approach to teaching and learning.</p></li><li> <p>Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.</p></li></ul> Key Responsibilities <p>As a Hairdressing & Beauty Teacher, you will:</p><ul> <li> <p>Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based Hairdressing and Beauty lessons.</p></li><li> <p>Demonstrate professional techniques safely and effectively.</p></li><li> <p>Support students in developing practical, vocational and employability skills.</p></li><li> <p>Adapt teaching to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners.</p></li><li> <p>Maintain a safe and professional practical learning environment.</p></li><li> <p>Monitor and assess student progress.</p></li><li> <p>Complete marking and provide constructive feedback.</p></li><li> <p>Maintain appropriate records of pupil attainment and progress.</p></li><li> <p>Promote positive behaviour and high expectations within lessons.</p></li><li> <p>Support pupils who may have SEND or require additional help to access learning.</p></li><li> <p>Ensure equipment, products and resources are used safely and appropriately.</p></li><li> <p>Attend relevant staff meetings, CPD sessions and parents' evenings where required.</p></li><li> <p>Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff and senior leaders.</p></li><li> <p>Follow all school safeguarding, health and safety policies and procedures.</p></li></ul> Safeguarding & Compliance Requirements <p>TeacherActive is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
