Help Desk Technician - Mechanical/Electrical

Job Description:

Felder Group UK is a subsidiary of a globally established market leader in the manufacture and supply of high-quality machinery to the woodworking and composite processing industries and is responsible for sales, service and distribution throughout the UK. Due to our company’s success and continuing expansion plans throughout the country we are currently seeking to recruit a Help Desk Technician to join our busy Technical Support department at our Milton Keynes Head Office.

The role entails providing both our customers and field service team with high quality technical support via the telephone and internet. Our company manufactures an extensive range of machinery supplied mainly to the woodworking and composite material industry throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities To provide helpdesk support to customers via telephone and email.

  • Logging and updating all key information regarding the support call on the Company’s Service Portal.
  • Resolving the support call in a quick and efficient manner, paying particular attention to the protocols supplied by Felder UK Ltd.
  • To escalate the calls to an engineer visit where appropriate.
  • To familiarise yourself with all the Company’s software databases.
  • To communicate internally with our Planning Department and Line Manager.
Ideally candidates will: Having an understanding of electrical/mechanical systems and wiring diagrams is a huge plus — but a strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn is equally valued!
  • Be well organised, methodical and able to work under pressure.
  • Project a positive, friendly and professional image in person and on the phone.
  • Demonstrate a passion for customer service.
