Role Description

Help shape the future of dementia care in the UK. Dementia is the UK's biggest killer and one of the greatest social care challenges of our time. Every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia, and millions of people are affected through their relationships with family members, friends, and colleagues.

As a Trustee at Alzheimer's Society, you will:

  • Help shape the strategic direction of a nationally recognised charity.
  • Provide support, challenge, and strategic guidance to the Board and Executive Team.
  • Strengthen understanding of the changing health and social care landscape.

We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who can bring:

  • Significant leadership experience within adult social care.
  • Strategic insight and sound judgement.
  • An understanding of governance and organisational leadership.
  • The ability to influence, challenge constructively, and work collaboratively.
  • A commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • A genuine passion for improving the lives of people affected by dementia.

Previous Trustee or Non-Executive Director experience is welcome but not essential. This is a voluntary position requiring approximately one to two days per month, including Board and Committee meetings throughout the country, predominantly in London.
