Human Resources Manager - Sales, Service, and Aftermarket - West Division

Overview

Daikin Applied is seeking a Human Resources Manager to support our field sales and service teams in the West division. The HR Manager is a trusted partner to managers and employees, responsible for delivering HR programs and services that align with organizational goals. This role focuses on employee relations, labor relations in union settings, performance management, and talent development across the employee experience. Location: Remote. The West Division will support Daikin Applied\'s field sales and service organization in TX, LA, CO, CA, WA, and AZ in the US and British Columbia and Alberta in Canada.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as a strategic partner to business leaders, guiding decisions related to people, structure culture, engagement, and talent
  • Drive workforce planning, talent management and development
  • Lead performance management, succession planning, and development of leaders
  • Oversee employee relations needs
  • Serve as a resource for employees and managers to create a better workplace and proactively resolve problems
  • Advise management on appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and ensure adherence to state and federal regulations
  • Lead and resolve high-risk employee relations and labor relations matters, partnering with HR Policy & Process and/or Legal as needed
  • Analyze metrics and data to inform strategy, identify risks, and drive improvements in engagement, retention, and performance
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations
  • Interview and help select candidates to fill vacant positions
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs
  • Provide assistance and training to management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, performance management, EEOC, ADA, FMLA and other government requirements; identify and address employee-focused training needs
  • Analyze collective bargaining agreements and interpret contract terms to counsel management in labor relations policies
  • Represent management in labor relations matters, investigate grievances, and coordinate with shop stewards and supervisors
  • Prepare statistical reports on grievances, arbitration, mediation, and related activities to identify problem areas
  • Monitor adherence to labor contracts by overseeing policy implementation related to wages, hours, and working conditions
  • Support or lead labor contract negotiations and provide information on contract provisions and implications
  • Provide reference documents and data on labor legislation, market conditions, and benefits for negotiations
  • Travel within division up to 25%

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of Human Resources Business Partner/Manager experience
  • Experience supporting a remote workforce
  • Experience supporting a field sales organization
  • Highly collaborative and team-oriented
  • Strong business acumen with ability to work across business lines and cultures
  • Experience in a complex organization with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to establish high levels of trust and credibility
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects to drive timely results
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels
  • Demonstrated influence capabilities
  • Experience analyzing HR policies, programs and related data

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of HR Business Partner experience
  • PHR or SPHR certification
  • Experience with complex sales incentive plans
  • Performance management experience
  • Experience supporting union environments
  • Previous experience supporting Canadian teams
  • Experience with California employment laws and regulations

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 - $150,000 with bonus potential of up to 10 – 15%. The range represents pay for all positions in this job grade; individual base pay will depend on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
