An opportunity has arisen to work at an Ofsted Outstanding sixth form college. Wyke Sixth Form College is recognised for its educational excellence, placed in the top 5% for progress at A level and ranked the second highest provider of students to Oxbridge in the Yorkshire and Humber region. The college’s reputation attracts students from across Kingston-upon-Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. Wyke has grown significantly over the last decade, accommodating over 2500 exclusively level three students on a modern £30M university-style campus. At Wyke, we put the student first and all decisions centre around staff working together to meet their best interests. 98% of our current teachers and support staff recommend working here. Come and join the amazing learning culture that creates “The Wyke Experience”.

We are looking to appoint extra invigilators to work with our exams team to ensure the process runs as smoothly as possible for students. The work will be on a casual basis, mainly in December, January, May and June of each year. However, ad hoc opportunities throughout the year will also be available.

The successful candidates will be organised with a calm, pleasant manner and experience of working with young people would be an advantage. Significant availability in the months of May and June is essential and those appointed will be required to attend training prior to commencement of the role and refresher training annually during the autumn term.

We are lucky to work with great students who are here to learn and 98% of staff said they would recommend the College as a good place to work in the Summer 2025 Staff Pulse Survey. We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and we welcome applications from a diverse range of applicants. We would love our staff ethnicity and cultural profile to closely match the student population we serve.

The College takes safeguarding extremely seriously and a full range of pre-employment checks as set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education including a satisfactory enhanced DBS with barred list check and an online search will be required for this post. All posts at the College are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and it is an offence for those barred from working with children to even apply for a role at the College.
