The organization delivers capabilities to the stores that enrich the Customer and Associate experience and provide business value. We seek a motivated, talented, experienced Staff Engineer to help design and implement these business capabilities within the Global Front of Stores solutions. The Global Solution Delivery Team thrives on strong relationships with our stakeholders to address their needs while supporting overall TJX growth and operational stability. On this tightly knit and fast-paced solution delivery team you will be constantly challenged to stretch and think outside the box.</p><p></p><p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</p><ul><li><p>Leads technical discussions to design approaches to solving visible business problems.</p></li><li><p>Design, code, deploy & support working software/technology component, working collaboratively with architects and other engineers.</p></li><li><p>Work with other development and delivery teams to ensure their systems are well designed, deployed to production and any known risks are identified and mitigated.</p></li><li><p>Could act as a lead on a scrum team in an Engineering capacity for medium initiatives, prioritizing tasks, providing guidance, and resolving issues.</p></li><li><p>Coaches and guides engineering talent leveraging your software engineering experience</p></li><li><p>Partners with cross functional technical team members to drive technical solutions that meet business needs</p></li><li><p>Ensures best engineering practices are followed/adopted for operational excellence</p></li><li><p>Contributes to high level architecture to drive engineering & operational excellence</p></li><li><p>Responsibilities include NFRs, SOX/PCI requirements and security best practices</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Skills/Knowledge</p><ul><li><p>5-8 years of hands on engineering experience in design, development of Java applications using object-oriented principles, data structures, design patterns and algorithms in retail applications for Point of Sale and/or Payments</p></li><li><p>Deep expertise in Java/J2EE, SQL databases</p></li><li><p>Required Experience:</p><ul><li><p>Hands on Oracle Retail Xstore POS development</p></li><li><p>Oracle databases</p></li><li><p>Oracle EFTLink<br /> </p></li></ul></li><li><p>Preferred Experience:</p><ul><li><p>Spring and related frameworks, and/or peripheral integrations like receipts printers, pin pads in a retail POS environment a plus</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of RTLog generator, Xenvironment a plus</p></li><li><p>Proven experience with payment integrations (e.g. Verifone, Adyen, Worldpay, FreedomPay, etc.)</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with peripheral integrations (e.g., receipt printers, pin pads) in a retail POS environment.</p></li><li><p>Experience with global or multi-regional technology deployments.</p></li><li><p>Exposure to test automation frameworks and performance tuning in high-volume retail systems.</p></li><li><p>Application Integration (REST, SOAP, Data Exchange, etc.) experience is a plus.<br /> </p></li></ul></li><li><p>Proven experience leading technical design and solution delivery in complex, distributed systems.</p></li><li><p>Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency with source code management tools (e.g., Git), Jira, and Confluence.</p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across teams and geographies.</p></li><li><p>Experience with providing and implementing security recommendations.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach engineers at various levels.</p></li><li><p>Ability to understand and communicate the business impact of technical issues.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrates lean agile mindset and embraces the culture of continuous improvement and learning</p></li><li><p>Works independently and collaborates well as part of a multiple geo team</p></li><li><p>Good verbal and written communication skills</p></li><li><p>Experience with the software development lifecycle, within an AGILE environment</p></li></ul><p></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span>In addition to our open door policy and supportive work environment, we also strive to provide a competitive salary and benefits package.
