<p><strong>Junior Python Developer</strong></p><p><strong>Remote | Permanent</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Nigel Frank International is working with a growing trading technology business to recruit a Junior Python Developer.</p><p><br></p><p>This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer to work on the software that powers live trading strategies. You will join a small technical team, work closely with experienced engineers, traders and researchers, and gradually take ownership of components as your confidence and experience grow.</p><p><br></p><p>You do not need previous trading-industry experience. What matters most is strong Python capability, a genuine interest in building reliable systems and the ability to work independently while communicating clearly with others.</p><p><br></p><p>What you will be doing</p><ul><li>Develop strategy components and shared Python libraries from designs and specifications created by traders and researchers.</li><li>Extend integrations with trading venues and brokers, including new endpoints, order types and improved error handling across REST and WebSocket APIs.</li><li>Investigate issues in live systems, including dropped connections, unexpected API responses and data-quality problems.</li><li>Build and improve dashboards, logging and visibility into how trading strategies and systems are performing.</li><li>Write tests, review code and improve the areas of the codebase you work on.</li><li>Work alongside senior engineers initially, before taking greater ownership of systems and components.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>What we are looking for</p><ul><li>1–3 years’ commercial experience as a Software Engineer, Python Developer, Backend Developer or similar.</li><li>Strong Python skills beyond simple scripting, with experience contributing to a larger codebase or production application.</li><li>Working SQL and general database knowledge.</li><li>Experience calling HTTP APIs and working with streaming data through WebSockets.</li><li>Comfortable using Git and collaborating with other developers.</li><li>Able to debug unfamiliar or complex codebases methodically.</li><li>Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain problems and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>Self-motivated, curious and comfortable working independently.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Desirable skills</p><ul><li>Asynchronous Python.</li><li>Dashboards, visualisation, monitoring or centralised logging.</li><li>Docker, CI pipelines or cloud platforms — particularly Azure.</li><li>Open-source contributions or personal technical projects.</li><li>An interest in financial markets, trading or quantitative finance.</li></ul><p>If you are a strong Python developer looking for an opportunity to build real-world systems in a technically interesting, fast-moving environment, apply today or contact Nigel Frank International for a confidential discussion.</p>
