JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Kitchen Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Kitchen
REPORTING TO: Head Chef
WORKING WITH: Kitchen Chefs, Dining Room, Reception, Maintenance
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual, loaded with drive and determination to join our kitchen team of 4 staff.
You will need to be flexible in your working patterns and able to work a rota of early and late weekday shifts and the occasional Saturday.
The position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food preparation. The Kitchen Assistant will assist with various tasks, catering support and maintaining food safety standards and assisting with food preparation.
Pay: £14.80 per hour, 35 hours a week full time
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
·Keeping work stations and surfaces clean and tidy
·Cleaning kitchen appliances, ovens, dishes and pans
·Prioritising the washing of all equipment subject to the needs of the chefs/front of house teams
·Keeping pots, pans and kitchen utensils organized correctly
·Proactive monitoring to ensure that cleaning standards are always upheld
·Monitoring and cleaning the commercial grease trap
·Assisting the Head Chef as directed
·Preparing ingredients for dishes
·Washing, peeling, slicing fruit and vegetables
·Cooking ingredients according to directions from the chef
·Receiving deliveries, unloading fresh supplies and storing correctly
·Restocking the store rooms and cold rooms as instructed by the chef
·Cooking ingredients according to directions from the Chef
·Ensuring kitchen floors are kept clean and safe at all times
·Ensuring recycling is correctly sorted and the bin area is kept clean and tidy
·Working to the required standard for the Club under Health and Safety, and Hygiene legislation and COSHH guidelines
·To participate in training and development in all aspects of kitchen work and be eager to learn and develop skills
·To maintain security of all Club assets and report any damage to the Head Chef
