Laundry Assistant / Kitchen Assistant

We are looking for an individual to join our team at Auburn Mere who can do both Laundry and Kitchen Assistant roles. You will be required to work every other weekend. Times can be discussed at interview as we can be flexible. Please call us if you need anymore information - 01923 247 310.

Key Objectives To assist with operating commercial laundry and steam cleaning equipment. You will also assist the Chef Manager with food preparation and carry out dish washing duties

Rate is £12.71 plus weekend and bank holiday enhancements.

Main Duties for Laundry

  • To help with the laundry during the weekends, holiday time, and during sickness cover.
  • To launder clothes, iron, deliver residents laundry to bedrooms and put away.
  • To follow laundry policy re infection control and Health and Safety.
  • To follow schedules and complete reports.
  • To ensure high hygiene standards by also using the products supplied at the correct dilutions.
  • To attend training sessions and complete red criers
  • To be part of the Gold Standard Framework

Main Duties for Kitchen

  • To assist the chef in food preparation.
  • To carry out washing up duties.
  • To wash, peel, chop, cut and cook food when required.
  • To deliver meals to the dining room as required.
  • To assist the Chef in receiving, checking and storing of food supplies.
  • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen at all times.
  • Assisting with each section of the kitchen as directed by the kitchen manager.
  • Be aware of your own responsibilities for Health & Safety and others.
  • Ensure stock is rotated FIFO and stored properly.
  • To prepare drinks for service users and their visitors when requested.
  • To be available for training in line with the Company’s training programme.
  • Inform Kitchen Manager of all Annual Leave or Sickness related incidents as they occur.
  • Will need to be available to work alone on afternoon shifts when required.
