Logistics Specialist - Planning

About the Role

We’re looking for an organised, proactive Logistics Specialist to join our Central Logistics team at Hilmore House. In this key role, you’ll report directly to the Senior Logistics Manager, Central, taking responsibility for the planning and communication of all key Fresh, Bread, and Produce events.

You’ll oversee seasonal events and day-to-day logistics activity to ensure the end-to-end inbound and outbound network runs smoothly, protecting product availability in our stores while keeping costs to a minimum. By coordinating communication between central teams and operational sites, managing key projects, and removing wasted effort, you’ll play a critical part in delivering a brilliant customer experience.

What You’ll Do

As a Logistics Specialist, you’ll:

  • Plan and deliver communications and governance for key Fresh events and day-to-day inbound to outbound operations.
  • Manage communications between central teams and operational sites, issuing weekly logistics bulletins and urgent operational updates.
  • Lead key Fresh logistics projects (such as site line movements and store openings), engaging senior stakeholders to maintain buy-in and project delivery.
  • Manage relationships across Logistics, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure inbound goods adhere to business guidelines and schedules.
  • Track project deliverables, map processes, and mitigate risks, conflicts, and operational issues.
  • Review end-to-end Fresh processes to identify efficiency opportunities and remove wasted effort across the supply chain.
  • Maintain quality and business rule adherence across Fresh logistics operations.

About You You’ll be a resilient, solution-focused logistics professional with strong communication and project planning capabilities.

You’ll have:

  • Strong knowledge of diverse logistics operations, supporting supply chain functions, and end-to-end logistics processes.
  • Proven track record in project planning, process mapping, and tracking deliverables to plan.
  • Outstanding problem-solving, decision-making, and risk management capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams under resource constraints.
  • High level of personal accountability, ownership, and a strong customer-first approach
