Job role: Management Accountant
Contract: Temporary ongoing
Pay rate: £23.08 - £25.64 per hour plus holiday pay
Location: North London
Hybrid working: 2 daysin office, 3 days work from home
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established international charity. Working closely with senior finance colleagues in the UK and overseas, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial information, supporting budget holders, and helping shape the future of the finance function.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce monthly management accounts from journals through to financial statements
  • Complete month-end close activities including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
  • Carry out detailed variance analysis against budgets and prior year performance
  • Prepare financial reports and board-level information
  • Support annual audit processes and statutory reporting requirements
  • Work collaboratively with finance colleagues across multiple international locations
  • Provide financial support and insight to budget holders and non-finance stakeholders
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and reporting

We're looking for someone with

  • Newly qualified or part qualified, in an accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA)
  • Strong month-end management accounting experience within the charity sector
  • Understanding of UK GAAP and Charity SORP (FRS 102)
  • Experience preparing management accounts from source data through to reporting
  • Knowledge of journals, accruals, prepayments and bank reconciliations
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience of variance analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience of audit processes and working with auditors
  • Knowledge of tax regulations including VAT, payroll etc.
