Medical Assistant Back Office/Front Office Bilingual
Front-office and back office Medical Assistant positions open for a well-established medical office located in Phoenix, AZ. The candidate should have 2 years of recent experience performing Front Office Medical assisting. Also 2 year experience on back office. Bilingual Spanish is required. Must willing to work weekends.
Job Duties Include, but are not limited to:
Front-Office:
- Greeting and creating a welcoming environment in the front office.
- Answering multi-phone calls
- Collecting and storing medical information from patients
- Ethical communication with patients
- Utilizing follow-up system to assure care follow up
- Friendly personality with the desire to work with Patients
- Medical terminology
- Billing
- Maintaining operations by following policies and procedures
- Protecting Patients rights by maintaining patient confidentiality of personal and financial information
- Maintaining office inventory and equipment to determine inventory level anticipating the level of supplies
- Establishing and maintaining effective working communication with physicians, staff, and management
- Ability and willingness to treat all patients with the utmost kindness and consideration
- Administrative functions to support clinic, including but not limited to:
- Data entry, Photocopying, Faxing, Obtaining records
- Other duties as assigned
Back Office:
- Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Must have experience to withdraw patients blood
- Record patient's medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records
- Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean
- Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log specimens, and prepare them for testing
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instruction to patients
- Perform general office duties, such as answering phones, also taking dictation from the medical provider
- Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies
- Maintain inventory of test kits and order supplies for kits and office supplies when necessary
- Knowledge of medication to include a) clinical use, b) doses, c) dispensing mode-
- d) adverse reactions and side effects
- Perform required quality control procedures on lab equipment as needed and requested by management
- Help Physician examine and treat patients, handing them instruments or materials or performing such tasks as given injections or removing sutures
- Secure patient information and maintain patient record confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records
- Must comply with HIPAA laws
