Meta Ads Specialist (Part-Time) - Remote

This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: Europe, European Union, EMEA, Spain

Launched in 2012, BorrowMyDoggy is the UK’s leading dog-sharing marketplace, connecting dog owners with trusted local dog lovers.

We’ve recently brought Meta advertising in-house. We spend a significant budget on paid social every month, and we want our creative to work as hard as our budget does.

What it’s like working with us

We’re a fun, supportive and ambitious team where people are encouraged to take initiative and find better ways of doing things.

We’re a small company, so there’s plenty of room to make an impact, take ownership and grow into new responsibilities.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a hands-on Meta Ads Specialist to own our Meta account end to end: running campaigns and budgets, making the ads, and using data to decide what to make next.

This replaces our agency. You’ll be the person who launches, monitors and optimises campaigns, and who turns our large library of in-house and community content into static and short-form video ads, working closely with our small in-house marketing team.

This is a part-time role (1-3 days per week). It could suit a freelancer or someone who wants to add meaningful, flexible work alongside another role, consultancy or portfolio career.

You’ll work in a creative analytics tool (such as AdNova, Motion or Superads), Meta Ads Manager and AI tools, so you’ll need to be both a confident media buyer and a capable ad maker.

What you’ll do:

Run the account

  • Manage our Meta Ads account day to day: campaign structure, audiences, budgets, pacing and bids
  • Launch and test ads at pace in Meta Ads Manager and any bulk-launch tools we use
  • Monitor performance daily and shift budget towards what’s working; pause what isn’t
  • Keep tracking and conversion data healthy (Pixel, Conversions API) and flag issues fast
  • Own channel reporting: a monthly report with clear top 5 takeaways, plus weekly headlines

Make the ads

  • Turn our existing content library into ads: we have lots of organic social, member photos and videos, and UGC. You’ll find the gems and cut them into ready-to-run statics and short-form video
  • Edit and design ads yourself (Canva, Figma, CapCut or similar), including fast iterations of winners: new hooks, captions, crops and formats from the same footage
  • Build the organic-to-paid pipeline: spot our best-performing organic posts and put them to work in paid
  • Refresh creative at least monthly, with a clear testing plan for new hooks, angles and formats
  • Keep a simple content wishlist of the gaps the data shows, so our in-house team and community can fill them, rather than commissioning expensive new shoots

Use the data to decide what’s next

  • Use a creative analytics tool to track hook rate, hold rate, CTR and CPA by concept and iteration, and spot fatigue early
  • Mine ad comments and audience feedback for new angles and objections
  • Use AI tools (e.g. Claude) with our brand guidelines to speed up analysis, copy and ideation, with a sharp eye for what’s actually usable

Ideal attitude

  • Curious and commercial: you always ask why an ad worked, not just whether it did
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently (fractional setup)
  • Clear communicator: you turn messy data into a few sharp, actionable points
  • Proactive: you bring ideas and new tools to us without being asked

Time commitment & setup

  • 1-3 days per week (flexible, but you’ll need to check the account briefly on other days)
  • Fully remote (we do have a small office in London, you can go to)
  • Hands-on: you build, launch and optimise, not just advise

Requirements

Essential:

  • 3+ years running Meta Ads accounts hands-on, agency or in-house, for a consumer, subscription or online business
  • Has independently managed £20k+/month in Meta spend, including budgets, structure and testing
  • A portfolio of ads you’ve made yourself (statics and short-form video), especially ads cut from existing or user-generated footage
  • Proven ability to diagnose creative fatigue and decide what to iterate, refresh or retire
  • Data-aware, with a clear grasp of hook rate, hold rate, CTR, CPM, CPA and ROAS, and the attribution limits behind them
  • Clear written communication, including concise reports for non-specialists

Ideally:

  • Hands-on use of a creative analytics or launch platform (e.g. AdNova, Madgicx, Superads, Atria, Motion or Segwise)
  • Confident using AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT for analysis, copy and creative ideation
  • Experience working with UGC creators and community content, and editing raw footage into ads
  • Experience in a marketplace or two-sided platform

Nice to have:

  • TikTok Ads experience (we run a small budget there)
  • Familiarity with Windsor.ai, Metabase or similar reporting tools
  • Motion design or AI video tools for fast iterations

Benefits

  • Competitive day rate
  • A fun and friendly dog-loving team
  • Real ownership of creative in a newly in-housed channel
  • Work with a mission-driven brand and an engaged, dog-loving community
