Offender Personality Disorder PSO (Hampshire) Fixed Term/Loan - South Central (Ref: 9072)

The job holder will undertake the full range of work with people on probation before and after sentence. This includes assessment, sentence implementation, offender management, and producing reports. The role involves providing case management support to a full range of people on probation, utilizing service procedures. The job also requires assessing and managing the risk posed by individuals on probation to protect victims and the public, including:

  • Liaising with criminal courts, justice agencies, and partner organizations.
  • Supervising and managing risks during and after custodial sentences.
  • Working with other agencies to prevent crime and support victims and offenders.

The post requires a commitment to equality, inclusion, and confidentiality, adhering to policies regarding sensitive information. Some out-of-hours work may be necessary. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing offenders assessed as low or medium risk and supporting high-risk cases.
  • Contributing to risk management plans and reporting changes in risk or non-compliance.
  • Using computer systems for record-keeping.
  • Referring offenders to services and liaising with staff and external agencies.
  • Conducting visits to prisons, homes, or other locations.
  • Completing reports in court and prosecuting breaches.
  • Providing team cover and delivering accredited programs.
  • Conducting mandatory drug and alcohol tests and following medication procedures.
  • Carrying out safeguarding duties and demonstrating pro-social behavior.
  • Working within the values of PS and HMPPS.
