Online Reading Interventionist (K-6 Elementary)

Be Alright Tutoring is seeking experienced, highly specialized educators for ongoing, one-to-one virtual reading tutoring with elementary-age students. This is a long-term, part-time independent contractor (1099) opportunity. We are not hiring for short-term or summer-only positions.What You Will Do

  • Deliver structured virtual literacy lessons aligned with Science of Reading practices.
  • Provide direct instruction in phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Support students with dyslexia, ADHD, and executive-functioning challenges.
  • Maintain regular communication with families and complete brief session notes.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience: 3+ years of K-6 classroom teaching, reading intervention, or literacy tutoring.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of early reading development and phonetic rules.
  • Technical: Absolute comfort independently managing Zoom and digital whiteboards.
  • Location: Must reside in the United States.

Preferred Experience

  • Current or previous elementary teaching license, Reading Specialist endorsement, or Special Education credentials.
  • Formal training in Structured Literacy programs (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Barton, UFLI, LETRS).

Scheduling & Pay

  • Compensation: $25 per tutoring hour.
  • Commitment: 15–20 hours of consistent, predictable weekly availability.
  • Peak Hours: At least 4 dependable blocks during weekday after-school/evening hours (Mon/Wed or Tue/Thu combinations heavily prioritized).
