Packing Operative Rate: £12.52ph, rising to £12.86 once you become a Skilled Operative. + £1ph Premium added to hours between 10pm – 4am Shift: * 4/7 * 4 Fixed Days Each Week * Multiple Shift Patterns to Choose From Hours: * 7am -7pm DAY SHIFT ONLY OR * 7pm – 7am NIGHT SHIFT ONLY You Choose Your Preference! Location: Geary’s Bakeries Ltd | Unit D | Optimus Way | Glenfield | Leicester | LE3 8JR The Role Our Operatives are (quite literally) the bread and butter of Geary’s. You’re responsible for ensuring the delicious bread we produce, and package is of the best possible quality, that adds a spark of joy to people’s daily lives. Your main responsibilities include: * Manually folding packaging * Manually re-working product * Manually labelling product * Packing product into baskets and manually stacking * Operating machinery (i.e., bagging units) on lines * Following Good Manufacturing Practice to keep Finishing area tidy and safe * Quality control – following SOPs to ensure product meets our quality standards * Meeting all Health and Safety responsibilities * Supporting Production, Loading and Hygiene departments when necessary You will be moving around a busy bakery, carrying out manual and non-manual tasks, which may be physically demanding at times. (Can be trained if basic awareness exists.) * Comfortable with repetitive tasks and able to adjust to changing production needs. * Able to communicate effectively in English to understand safety protocols and instructions.
