Part 2 Architectural Assistant

Part 2 Architectural Assistant - Birmingham

A long-established Birmingham architecture practice is hiring a Part 2 Architectural Assistant. An award-winning portfolio, a varied workload across public and private sector projects, and a studio set up to develop Part 2s through to Part 3.

You'll work alongside experienced architects on live schemes, with the variety to get a strong, mixed grounding rather than getting pigeonholed early. A design-led culture, with the kind of studio that backs creativity over conformity.

What you'll be doing as a Part 2 Architectural Assistant in Birmingham:

  • Supporting project teams across RIBA stages, from concept and feasibility through to technical and on-site work.
  • Producing drawings, design development work, and presentation material.
  • Getting involved in client meetings, site visits, and design reviews early on.
  • Building solid understanding of design, technical and legislative requirements.

What makes a strong Part 2 Architectural Assistant for this role:

  • RIBA Part 2 (or completing it imminently), with the intention of working towards Part 3.
  • A strong design eye and confidence as a communicator.
  • Good with industry-standard software (Revit, AutoCAD, and the usual design tools).
  • Curious, organised, and willing to take ownership of your work.
  • Keen to build a Part 2 career in Birmingham or the wider Midlands.

Why this Part 2 Architectural Assistant role in Birmingham stands out:

  • A studio that backs Part 3 candidates with mentorship, time, and the right project exposure to qualify well.
  • A varied workload across multiple sectors and project types, giving you a substantial, mixed foundation.
  • A design-led culture that backs individual creativity and rewards good design, rather than slotting you into a fixed studio style.
  • An award-winning practice with substantial heritage and an active current portfolio.
  • Birmingham as a base, with easy reach from across the Midlands.
