About the role

We are looking for an experienced, organised and reliable chef to join our bakery and corporate catering kitchen.

The main focus of the role will be preparing high-quality food for corporate catering orders. You will need to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining excellent standards of presentation, cleanliness and food safety.

Our kitchen is open to customers, so you must also be friendly, approachable and comfortable serving or speaking with customers when required.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food for corporate catering orders
  • Work efficiently to meet busy production schedules and collection times
  • Maintain consistent quality, portioning and presentation
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organised and well stocked
  • Follow food hygiene, allergen and health and safety procedures
  • Assist with daily preparation, service and kitchen close-down
  • Monitor stock and communicate ingredient or supply requirements
  • Help serve customers when required
  • Work collaboratively with the wider bakery and front-of-house team
  • Support bread, bakery and pastry production where needed

Essential requirements

  • Previous professional experience working as a chef
  • Fast, efficient and confident in a busy kitchen
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills
  • High standards of cleanliness and food safety
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
  • Consistent attention to quality and presentation
  • Friendly and professional with customers
  • Comfortable working in an open kitchen environment
  • Able to communicate clearly and work well as part of a team

Desirable experience

  • Bakery, bread or pastry experience
  • Corporate catering or high-volume food preparation
  • Experience working with catering deadlines and large orders
  • Customer service or front-of-house experience

Bakery or pastry experience would be a bonus, but it is not essential. Training can be provided, as we make our own breads and other bakery products in-house.
