Part-Time IT Support Remote Support, Microsoft 365

Overview

Teknowledge Ltd Part-Time IT Support (Remote Support, Microsoft 365). We’re looking for a reliable and technically capable IT Support Contractor to assist with remote helpdesk tasks, Microsoft 365 administration, and endpoint monitoring. You\'ll act as a backup to our lead technician, supporting day-to-day IT operations and occasionally providing additional coverage during leave periods. This is a remote, part-time contractor role, ideal for someone dependable, solutions-focused, and looking for consistent, flexible work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide remote desktop support (Windows 11): drivers, Teams, camera/audio troubleshooting
  • Manage Microsoft 365 tasks: user creation, MFA resets, mailbox config
  • Update SharePoint and OneDrive permissions for restricted folders and sites
  • Monitor and deploy patching through Endpoint Central (ManageEngine)
  • Assist with product updates and monitoring in ESET Endpoint Protection
  • Log and resolve tickets using Freshservice (ITSM platform)
  • Maintain asset inventories, prepare and configure equipment
  • Support laptop build testing and audits (e.g. Cyber Essentials Plus)

Ideal Experience

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 admin centre
  • Confident troubleshooting Windows 11 laptops and desktops
  • Familiarity with Freshservice or similar helpdesk systems
  • Understanding of endpoint protection platforms (e.g. ESET, Sophos)
  • Bonus: experience with macOS, mobile device management (MDM), or Google Workspace
  • Responsive, reliable, and open to learning
  • Must be eligible for NPPV Level 3 security vetting

Contract Details

  • Self-employed contractor (ongoing role)
  • 12 hours/week (minimum 3 working days)
  • Availability to work up to 25 hours/week is expected during holiday cover for the lead technician
  • £20/hour during a 3-month probation period, rising up to £23/hour thereafter
  • Remote-first (slight preference for candidate near Watford or Manchester)
  • Company laptop provided
