Part Time Ramp Services Agent

As a Ramp Agent at London City Airport, you’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, smooth and positive experience for every passenger. You’ll be a team player who takes pride in working safely, following procedures and maintaining a secure working environment.

Throughout your shift, you’ll help deliver safe, compliant and punctual aircraft turnarounds, working as part of a team to ensure every flight is ready for departure on time. Your contribution will be an important part of making the passenger journey as safe, seamless and enjoyable as possible.

This is an active, hands-on role involving significant manual handling and working outdoors in all weather conditions. It’s an opportunity to embrace your challenger spirit, work as part of a high-performing team and play a key role in keeping the airport moving.

As a Ramp Services Agent your key responsibilities include:

  • Processing and transportation of baggage and cargo
  • Loading and unloading aircraft
  • Aircraft marshalling & other critical activities
  • Application and manoeuvring of ground servicing equipment
  • Collaborating with our flight crews to conduct aircraft engine ‘Start-ups’
  • Seasonal operational activities such as Aircraft De-icing / Anti-icing
All duties will include the use of electric vehicles or specialist ground handling equipment. An awareness of health and safety and safe working practices is paramount, although a full 8-week training programme is provided.

Once you’ve completed your training, you’ll be on a fixed roster pattern, so you can plan around work and have a good work life balance.

What you will need, however, is:

  • a Full UK/EC/EEA clean driving licence held for a period of at least 6 months
  • full colour vision
  • the physical fitness to cope with long periods of lifting, standing and bending
  • be passionate about safety in the workplace
  • a strong team player with the willingness to raise issues and contribute to our dynamic team

You must also be:

  • willing to provide a full five-year pre-employment reference check
  • able to provide your right to work in the UK
  • happy to complete our pre-employment medical and criminal record checks
  • be able to work full time for the first 3 weeks to complete the initial training

Hours of Work:

  • 21 hours per week on a rotational shift pattern
  • Includes early, mid, late shifts and weekends and public holidays
Early 06:30 - 10:30

Mid 11:00 - 16:00

Late 17:00 - 21:00
