Pharmacy Dispenser – Saturday Position

J. Docter Limited, an independent pharmacy chain in the West Midlands, is currently recruiting for a Pharmacy Dispenser for our Stubby Lane, Wednesfield branch.

This is a permanent 4-hour Saturday position (9:00am–1:00pm), making it an ideal opportunity for a student who is looking to gain valuable workplace experience within a community pharmacy while studying.

Applicants must be committed, hardworking and provide great customer service to our patients. The ability to respond to medical queries in a sensitive and professional manner is a key aspect of this role. Good IT skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills are all essential.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Dispense prescriptions accurately under the supervision of the pharmacist.
  • Answer the telephone and respond to patient queries professionally.
  • Serve customers with over-the-counter medicines and other pharmacy products.
  • Provide appropriate advice to customers on minor ailments and, where appropriate, refer them to the pharmacist.
  • Liaise with GP surgeries and other healthcare professionals.
  • Order medicines and assist with stock management.
  • Ensure the correct storage of medication, including effective stock rotation.
  • Monitor and check expiry dates on medication.
  • Sort and file prescriptions and other relevant paperwork.
  • Comply with legal and company guidelines, including SOPs and GPhC regulations.
  • Support and assist all members of the pharmacy team.

The above list is not exhaustive. You may be required to perform other duties deemed reasonable by your manager.

This vacancy is on a permanent basis, however, is conditional upon successfully completing a probationary period.
