Production Operative

The Darent Wax Company is a privately-owned, Kent-based manufacturer, established in 1984, specialising in wax-based products. We serve a truly global market across a wide range of industries. We are looking for dedicated, reliable, and adaptable Production Operatives to join our team on a permanent basis.
This is a hands-on, responsible role that goes beyond simply producing finished goods. You will need to be physically fit, practical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
(including, but not limited to):
- Operating production line equipment and general factory machinery
- Manual handling and heavy lifting
- Loading mixing tanks and blending wax formulations
- Supporting daily and weekly production plans in collaboration with supervisors and schedulers
- Accurately labelling finished goods with batch and product information
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment, including daily clear-downs
- Carrying out in-process quality checks
- Safely operating equipment such as naked flame burners and heat guns
- Providing real-time progress updates to the Production Supervisor
- Performing machine start-up and shut-down procedures
- Assisting with routine cleaning and basic machinery maintenance
- General housekeeping and ad hoc duties, including occasional flexibility in working hours
Person Specification
This role would suit an individual with a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a flexible approach to work. You should be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Please note, this is a physically demanding position, requiring regular lifting, loading, and standing for extended periods.
