SALARY: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits (see below)

LOCATION: Hybrid / Newbury, Berkshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm

JOB OVERVIEW

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced QA Engineer to play a key role in testing SaaS products within a collaborative technical environment.

As the QA Engineer, you will ensure products meet high customer standards through structured testing, effective defect reporting and continuous improvement of quality assurance processes.

The QA Engineer will carry out hands-on system, functional and regression testing, contribute to automated testing and work closely with development, product and support teams to improve reliability, security and scalability throughout the product lifecycle.

DUTIES

Your duties as the QA Engineer include:

  • Deliver Testing Outputs: Deliver testing outputs described by tickets, stories and release plans
  • Execute Product Testing: Carry out system, functional and regression testing across SaaS software products
  • Report and Validate Defects: Identify, document and validate defects with clear, accurate reporting
  • Support Test Automation: Contribute to automated testing where appropriate and help improve QA processes
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with developers, product, support and stakeholders to improve product quality
  • Participate in Agile Ceremonies: Take part in relevant Agile ceremonies and support release planning
  • Explore Risks and Edge Cases: Challenge assumptions, investigate failure points and support improvements to quality, security and user experience

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Experience testing SaaS software products
  • Strong system, functional and regression testing skills
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, analytics and packet tracing
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Familiarity with automated testing and test automation programmes
  • Ability to work across Windows, Linux and macOS environments
  • Python and/or Bash scripting skills
  • Clear defect reporting, stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Organised, systematic and thorough approach to work
  • Collaborative, trustworthy and guided by integrity
  • Proactive approach to learning new skills and improving processes
  • Able to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Pragmatic approach to balancing quality, risk and delivery objectives

DESIRABLE

  • Experience testing cyber security products
  • Knowledge of security testing techniques and secure software principles
  • Experience with API, integration and performance testing
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and quality gates
  • Experience with cloud-hosted SaaS platforms
  • Exposure to vulnerability assessment or penetration testing
  • Knowledge of Rust or willingness to learn
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent QA qualification
