Receptionist
Working Hours: 20-30 hours per week
As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a warm and welcoming first impression and supporting a smooth and enjoyable dining experience from arrival to departure.
You will be responsible for assisting with reservations, welcoming and seating guests, responding to enquiries, and providing general Front of House support to ensure consistently high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome all guests in a warm, professional and friendly manner.
- Assist guests with reservations, seating arrangements, enquiries and special requests.
- Maintain accurate records of daily bookings, cancellations and amendments.
- Communicate effectively with the Floor and Management Teams regarding reservations, VIP guests and special requirements.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to emails promptly, professionally and courteously.
- Ensure the reception and waiting areas are clean, tidy and well-presented at all times.
- Support the team during busy service periods, including guest seating and Front of House coordination.
- Provide basic concierge assistance, such as directions and local recommendations, when required.
- Assist in creating a positive and personalised guest experience throughout the visit.
- Report any maintenance, safety or cleanliness issues to the Manager on Duty.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of guest facilities, including guest toilets, when required.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including health & safety and hygiene standards.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by the Management Team.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a receptionist, host/hostess or customer-facing hospitality role is preferred.
- Previous experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A warm, friendly, professional and proactive approach.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm, efficient and professional in a busy environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Professional telephone manner and good written communication skills.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
