What you'll do

You’ll rotate through customer, digital, commercial and delivery teams to build the skills needed to shape better banking. You could explore complaints, disputes, fraud or Premier customer experiences, turning themes into practical problem statements and opportunities for improvement. In Digital or Digital Channels, you’ll use customer journey and data insights to diagnose friction and support digital adoption. You may also work with business management teams to understand commercial priorities, track KPIs and measure value, before helping delivery and strategic execution teams land safe, responsible change at pace. Through each rotation, you’ll work across Retail Banking to make banking simpler, smarter and more customer-focused.

What you'll learn 

You’ll begin with structured training, then build your knowledge through hands-on learning, mentoring and coaching. Through rotations linked to the bank’s strategic priorities, you’ll deepen your understanding of customer-obsession, digital and technology, commerciality, and delivery, gaining hands-on experience into how digitisation and technology can simplify banking for customers and colleagues. You’ll learn how customer journeys work across customer channels, digital teams, and products and propositions, and how insight can be turned into meaningful change. The programme is designed to help you deply understand our customers, build your delivery capability, and develop and a stronger understanding of the retail bank as a whole. By the end, you’ll have a clearer view of how this part of HSBC operates and the skills to build a thriving career in a customer-obsessed environment.

Where you'll work 

You’ll work in Retail Banking, alongside teams focused on customer journeys, digital banking, AI and products and propositions. It’s a collaborative environment where customer, product and service teams work together to improve how HSBC supports customers day to day. You’ll be part of a professional office culture that values teamwork, customer focus and practical problem-solving. Expect exposure to a business that combines digital innovation with strong service abd customer foundations across a broad retail banking environment.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be available to work full-time from July 2027
  • Have achieved, or be on track to achieve, a 2:1 Undergraduate degree classification or above (or an international equivalent)
  • Will have completed studies by July 2027
  • Be fluent in English
  • Legally permitted to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme and beyond the end date, without requiring HSBC visa sponsorship 

 Please provide your achieved or expected final undergraduate degree result using the grading system used by your university (e.g. 2:1, First Class, GPA 3.5/4.0, 75% or local equivalent).
