Sales Development Representative – E-commerce Focus

About Quidkey

Quidkey is reimagining digital payments through bank-branded, embedded checkout solutions built on Open Banking rails. By removing card networks from the equation, we slash payment costs by up to 60% and offer merchants instant settlement—delivering faster cash flow and a smoother checkout experience.

We are live across the UK and EU and actively expanding into the US and cross-border payment corridors.

Our mission: to power merchant-preferred payments that are instant, secure, and bank-backed—starting with e-commerce, where frictionless checkout and cost efficiency are make-or-break.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a driven and commercially savvy Sales Development Representative (based out of UK or Europe) to spearhead growth within the e-commerce sector. This role is perfect for someone who understands how merchants think, thrives on building meaningful partnerships, and is excited about modernising online checkout.

You\'ll be responsible for identifying and engaging high-value e-commerce merchants, running outreach campaigns, securing qualified meetings, and helping close strategic deals.

What You’ll Do

Lead Generation & Merchant Outreach

  • Target online merchants across verticals like retail, travel, digital services, subscription platforms, and marketplaces.
  • Build a qualified prospecting list using LinkedIn, Apollo, Clay, and HubSpot.
  • Execute outbound campaigns (email, phone, LinkedIn) focused on solving checkout conversion and cost challenges.
  • Schedule and conduct discovery calls and product walkthroughs.

Sales & Pipeline Execution

  • Qualify leads and move them through the sales funnel with support from leadership to close the sale and passing the prospect to a customer service representative to onboard and maintain the relationship on an on-going basis
  • Create compelling proposals tailored to e-commerce pain points: high cart abandonment, card fees, payout delays.
  • Collaborate with product to address objections and refine positioning.
  • Maintain clean CRM records and provide accurate pipeline forecasts.

Campaign Support & Content Contribution

  • Assist in crafting and delivering outbound messaging and nurture sequences.
  • Help write content that speaks to e-commerce audiences—emails, social copy, event invites.
  • Track performance of outreach campaigns and suggest optimisations.

Relationship Building

  • Build long-term relationships with merchants, PSPs, and agencies in the e-commerce ecosystem.
  • Represent Quidkey at fintech meetups, virtual demos, webinars, and merchant conferences.
  • Keep up with payment trends, Open Banking adoption, and competitors in the e-commerce checkout space.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years in sales, business development, or growth—ideally in SaaS, fintech, digital payments or e-commerce solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of e-commerce pain points—especially around payments, fraud, fees, and conversion.
  • Confident in cold outreach and leading consultative sales conversations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and similar tools.
  • Results-oriented, organised, and excited by building from the ground up.
