School Facilities Manager

URGENT: School Facilities Manager – London E14

We are urgently seeking an experienced School Facilities Manager / Premises Manager to join a Primary School in Tower Hamlets.

Start date: Thursday 8th October 2026

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced facilities or premises professional to step into a key role within a welcoming primary school of approximately 330 pupils, based in a refurbished Victorian building.

Role Details
  • Position: School Facilities Manager / Premises Manager
  • Location: E14
  • Contract: Initially 3 months, with potential temp-to-perm for the right candidate
  • Start: Thursday 8th October
  • Hours: Full-time, 6:30am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the day-to-day management and maintenance of the school site
  • Ensuring health & safety and statutory compliance requirements are met
  • Managing fire safety, legionella, asbestos, PAT and other compliance areas
  • Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance
  • Managing contractors and external suppliers
  • Taking responsibility for site security, opening and locking up
  • Managing and supporting cleaning and site staff
  • Ensuring the school environment is safe, secure and well maintained
  • Working independently and responding confidently to issues as they arise
We're Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Facilities Manager, Premises Manager, Site Manager or similar
  • Ideally, previous experience working within a school or educational setting
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety and statutory compliance
  • Experience managing contractors and maintenance programmes
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Reliable, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) or willingness to obtain one immediately
